HQI= metalhalogenlamps best light you can get
HQL= mercuryvaporlamps second only to the above when it comes to light/W

thanks. please use hql for him 50 or 80 watt should be enough. he will be more active and healthier

I use them sometimes particularly with varanids. Word of caution, the ones available in the UK have a clear hexagonal center which focuses a hot beam over a small area of the surface and have been none to cause burns with some herps.

The lights in my link is HQI and yes they are pricey but worth every penny.

Some facts:

The light stays the same until its broken from day 1 until its dead: big

10 000 hours: cheap in the long run

Color 5400K: almost perfekt

Lumens 14 000, 150W that is: great

Prize: - well what can i say, buy used ones
