Thanks for the insight crouchy, my Gehyra do much the same thing, lighten and darken depending on their mood as much as anything I think Very Happy

I would say they don't really fire up. They do change colour depth and pattern with age though.

EG;

Male chahoua at 6 weeks old



And at adult age



Gargoyles on the other hand do fire up:

Wow Jackie, they are stunning!! Very Happy The top picture looks like (I believe) my female Gehyra the other night, she was completely Chocolate coloured, but is now back to being mottled grey again. If I'd been quicker and she'd been slower I mght have even got a picture Laughing

You certainly can't mistake the male can you Laughing
