We have been advised by the reptile shop to not use a stat on the heat mat as the viv is only 2ft and the heat mat is only 7watt, they say use a 60-100watt bulb and that this will be enough heat for the snake.
We have had lots of problems regarding the heat issue and we want to hear from you, what is the best thing to do?? should we get a stat for the mat?? if we do will a stat work on a 7watts heat mat??
Also what will be the best light source should we stick to a 60watt? or 100Watt?? We are puzzled as we know it needs to be 90 day and a few degrees at night also we know if temps are not right they will not eat properly, Please HELP!!! |

Heat mat with no stat = fire or burnt snake. I've seen it happen and it ain't pretty.
