hmmmm,

3ft viv's for a fully grown adult female

2ft viv's for fully grown adult males

I suppose. But i like the fact that you are not into tubs, yet wonder what the smallest viv you can get is Laughing (i know you later said you liked to be able to see them, but i still had a little chuckle to myself there, not often i read that Very Happy )

so my thinking is that if I make the stack 4ft wide I could always sub-divide a Viv in two creating two 2ft Viv's.

Another thought is heating so that I don't get too much heat transferal into the upper one.

I have read a few threads but undecided as I have always been bit unsure of heat mats due to burns and ceramics with give to much heat transferal.

If that all makes sense!

use a false floor in a viv that you wish to employ the use of a heatmat , place mat under the false floor , if heatmats have a thermostat on them and false floor , then burns are avoided.

are you using any other heat source? Mat's work great in a lot of set ups but they won't heat the air in a viv enough if the room is cool or the viv is big.

As eggman say's 1/3 is ideal.

All Viv's are kept indoors so they will all be room temperature.

Size of Viv 4ft in a stack of 3 and 4

all mine are in tubs. but if you are keeping them in Viv's, why are you buying a rack? room temp should be 80 deg.
