Just a few final questions the day before I get my Tegu.
At what age can you sex a Tegu? Is it the same as sexing other lizards?
Can you house a male and female together?

Tegus can be probed although I would not agree to doing this, in my opinion it is quite simple to sex them once they reach a certain size. The males have to two bumps near the base of the tail around the back legs and clocoa region, if you run your finger over this area you should feel these, they feel like a hard wart type projection under the scales. Sometimes females show these as well but they are more distint in males.

Housing together depends on the mentality of the individual, some can be housed together without any issues and some not. I've found it harder to house animals together that have been separated for long periods or even not coming into contact with their own species for many years. I think it is better to raise them together rather than introduce. I have introduced before but it was with animals that were use to having other tegus around at some point. Males can beome terrortorial and scent mark areas by rubbing their back end all over the substrate when other males come into their enviroment this can often cause serious issues.
