Right got is sussed, Tri means made up of just three primary colours hence nice bright light and also they are very cost effective in terms of energy consumption.

For best light, there is only HQI=metal halide lamps, they come in 70W and up.

Some specs on a 150w HQI lamp that i have running is:

Lumens 11 000
Color 5500 K naturally sunlight is 6000K
Hours 10 000 before you will notice any changes in color and brightness

Even better cheers! Do they chuck out a lot of heat?Do they give out any uv?

they do give some heat and there is HQI that have UV-stop built in and others that permits UV-light, 2:nd best is HQL lamps=quicksilver.
