Here in Finland we hear awful stories from Norwegian. That law makes me angry. It just doesn't make any reason why that law exists. Such a narrow minded thing to deny right to keep reptiles. Mad

Welcome to CaptiveBred Very Happy

It must be quite worrying though, because you can't just drop your hobby into conversation with the fear of people telling the authorities.

Is there a black/underground market then? How do you find the animals you want without getting caught?

What a daft law Rolling Eyes

Thank you Smile
yes it is, www.repti.net

It must be several houndred norwegian that a selling and buying there.

The reason its not allowed with reptiles in Norway is because they are afraid that if the reptiles escape they will destroy the wildlife, which i mean is 'cow dung', its very few species of reptiles that would survive here up north..

Yeah...in Finland some stupid people keep letting tortoises in lakes and rivers. What will they destroy? Nothing and tortoises will die on wintertime. I don't see how reptiles in captivity could harm nature in north. But isn't Norwegian quite strict with animals. My cat is Norwegian forest-cat suprise suprise from Norwegian and if I remember right - regulation and guarantees are quite strict.
