a short while ago my dot dash cali' king went through a phase of trying to eat itself!!

I would sit there and watch it chase itself around in circles just like a cat or dog would chase it's tail. then it would go for the kill and bite itself. sometimes letting go immediately, other times holding on for dear life!!

I would do the obvious and bath it regularly to make sure there was no scent of any kind but that would make no difference at all!?

has anyone seen this behavior before?
could anyone offer an explanation?

any thoughts welcome Confused

I'm sure I saw a thread on Livefoods a while ago about someone else with a king who had exactly the same problem. Might be worth doing a search. From what I can remember, the vet did all sorts of tests, but nothing showed up. I think they put it down to a neurological problem in the end, and said if it didn't stop doing it that it should be euthanased. Not sure what the outcome was.
