£3500 for a croc you must be out of your tree to pay that!!! It's well over priced. It may well be a very nice example but you can pick them up on the continent for 1500 euros which is just over a grand the going rate for salvadorii in Europe. £3500 for a monitor I don't see it as a problem and I have payed more than that for some species but I certainly would not pay that for a salvadorii.
I remember this animal when it first came into the UK as a juvenile and it was no where near that price. |

Yes I can actually. There was some being offered around last week.
Over the years I have seen or known of many available and regardless of size they are all priced around the same which is a third of the asking price of that one. On the continent these are not rare by any stretch of the imagination and if I wanted one at the weekend then I could get one but I have no interest in them. |

I look at all reptiles, the reason I look at this is because this particular animal as been owned by 2 friends of mine in the past Andy Warr ( Warhammer) and Richard Hardwick of Wharf.
I have no interest in keeping salvadorii but thats not to say I am not interested in reading or seeing threads about all kinds of stuff that I would not want to keep. |

Very impressive animal can’t understand why anyone would want to part with it other than the fact that they need massive arboreal enclosures and there nasty disposition . looking at Darren’s pics it didn't look very big, I was surprised as it looked to be around 7ft mark, tried to get a full body shot of it sprawled out but it never moved from the corner.
At least with that price it won’t fall into the hands of a novice, or an impulse buyer, IMO i doesnt belong in the pet trade and is better suited to the advanced. |
