hi another hatchling has just hatched whooo but i was thinking about genetics whilst sorting her out Laughing
her dads a SHTCT het for nothing and her mum is a blizzard so what percentage of het for blizzard would the hatchling be? 100% 50% 66% ? the percentage part is where i get stuck any help would be apprenciated Very Happy

66% would be from a het. x het.

Het x 50% possible het would give 33%.

correct me if I'm wrong but i think its actually 100% het blizzard, as the blizzard morph is a simple recessive trait therefore in order for the female to be a visual blizzard she it essentially homozygous blizzard meaning that all of her offspring will have been passed on one of the two blizzard genes she is carrying at the specific gene loci that makes her a visual blizzard. therefore by process of deduction all of her offspring will be 100% het blizzard irrespective of what she is bred to unless of course it is another blizzard or het blizzard in which case the offspring will be either visual blizzards or 100% het blizzards.

Yes you're right, I read that the mother was a het. blizzard rather than an actual blizzard.
