Hey all,
i got my first corn snake yesterday ( called her angel ), she is a beautiful carolina corn hatchling, well rounded body, tongue flicking, clear vents and very active.Brought her home and she seems to be settling in just great.
The girl in the shop where i got her said she was due to be fed and to try her with a pinkie later on in the evening. I did as the girl told me and as soon as i put the pinkie in she quickly devoured it with no problems and has been hiding since, with the exception to comming out for a drink.

I was wondering though how long after her feeding is it ok for me to start handling her? the last thing i want to do is make her regurgitate her dinner.

Also is feeding her every 3 to 5 days enough?

Generally always best to wait 48 hours, especially if it was large prey, if however there is no lump from where it has swallowed it's food then you can generally handle them sooner but if you can stick to the 48 hr rule.

As for feeding, for a hatchling I always try and offer twice a week so every 3-4 days is fine. Once they are on small adult mice I cut back a bit to once per week and even miss the odd week just to make sure they don't get fat.
