|
|
Firstly here is a little background on my own personal views on photography in the field.
I make no apology that the majority of images from Costa Rica were taken using flash as much of them were either nocturnal species or found at night!!!!
I know some wildlife photographers catch keep and release the following day allowing them to have the luxury of daylight.
I was in CR for 7 days and got very little sleep as we were either driving or hiking in the forests.
I also believe it to be wrong to keep any animal to photograph it and if its nocturnal why show it in daylight?
The whole trip was problematic as its the wet season and traveling is hampered by floods, landslides and fog.
Never the less its been my best trip out there yet and i cant wait to go back next year.
Undertaking this type of photography is very very hard work and there are never any guarantees about what species you will encounter. an example of this being my Trip last year when I never even saw a single boa or fer-de-lance two of the commoner species.
The rarer species such as Bushmaster are notoriously hard to find and although I was fortunate to find a large one (sex unknown as I wasn't prepared to probe it) it could have been much different.
Anyway those are a few thoughts.
A final one is that although I do not mind private individuals looking at my images please be aware that all images are protected under copyright laws and as the photographer I do and have every intention to pursue copyright theft.
I have successfully taken legal action against one web site and and a newspaper and will do again if my images are misused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To the rest of you enthusiasts I hope you enjoy the images as much as I did taking them.

pumilio were on caribean slopes and the auratus were also there in small numbers.
we found the pumilio to be plentiful in some areas.
if you plan to go there I'll give you some pointers if you want. _________________ Live for today as your dead for a long long time
