Hey all,
new paper out discussing the evolution and divergence of the groups of rat snakes. From the data they have concluded that new world Elaphe, now Pantherophis, should be corrected to Pituophis.

Well, thats what they are proposing, but it does look like a very comprehensive assessment of the group, so I can't see why it shouldn't be adopted, but we will see.
