Hey All,
one of my pet projects is recording sightings etc. of non-native reptiles. I do this in Jersey which is a nice fairly closed environment. Just had a call about a black snake with bright green blotches/squares on its back. Going to go and see if I can find it when the rain stops.
Most of these sightings turn out to be grass snakes, or slow worms, but I would be really interested if people could post their findings of non-natives on this topic, and just try to get an idea of the number of animals and species that are about. Over the years I have heard some truely amazing stories, photos are always a peach but rarely taken.
I will get a pic of whatever this thing I got the call about when and if I find it.
Recently have recieved an anery corn neonate that may have hatched wild, had reports of mexican kings, corns, and the odd Ig as well. All on an Island that is 9 x 5 miles!
