What could it mean when a royal that is normally active when taken out of viv is completely lethargic? I took mine out today, held him for well over 30 minutes, and during the whole time he stayed curled around my fingers. Only moved his head now and then when I changed my hand's position. I even took him into the backyard which always perks him up, but he paid no attention to those surroundings.
I don't think he could be going into shed, he only fed a few times since the last shed. Eyes are clear, but the top of his nose has a blue sheen!!
Does this sound like parasites perhaps?
He had mites before but I treated them with Reptile Relief, 3 times, and I haven't seen any for weeks.
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong with him? I am taking him to the vet next week if I can get an appointment, but in the meantime (Memorial Day weekend over here in U.S.) I could use some reassurance.
Thanks guys. |

But this blue color on top of his nose - any ideas anybody?

Is his tongue forked when he flicks it? Or is it stuck together?..and is there any bubbling around the mouth? _________________

It looks forked, and I don't see any bubbles. Except for the blue sheen he looks normal.
I am feeding him tonight. If he eats again (he did last week) I'll be slightly less worried. I will collect his stool and take him to the vet though, just in case. |
