Hi all,

Just thought I'd introduce you to my baby Leo. I've named her Honey, and she is such a little sweetie. Got her a couple of weeks ago, and she's about 3 and a half months old - 31g, and app. 7inches long. She's my first Leopard Gecko, and so I have a feeding question.
She has only eaten a few crickets since I got her, but really seems to love the little meal worms, which she devours, and also the odd wax worm (I know waxies are quite fattening, so she's only had a few so far). Is it a problem that she's only really eating mealworms at the moment? I know that lizards can have a problem with the chitin (spelling?), so I am concerned that she seems to ignore the crickets. I even tried her on little hoppers, but she ignored them too.

Thanks in advance.

Kel

Thanks Trueviper.

Dangermouse - Don't think she has a problem with her back leg, think it's just the way she's standing in the photo. I love her colouring too. I meant to ask the breeder what morph she was, as I don't actually know much about that sort of thing. Maybe somebody here could tell me.

she looks like a hypo tangerine carrot tail but might be a super hypo depends on what people class as a super hypo. i think a super hypo is a gecko without spots on the body but it can have them on the head and some peopel say different.
but anyway a beautiful gecko Very Happy

Thanks Stubeanz, for the info on her morph. I should hopefully see the breeder next weekend, so will ask him to confirm (should really have asked when I bought her, but just chose her because she looked really healthy, and her colours were lovely).

McFluffin - she's such a wee darlin', and got to say I adore her already. She's still quite skittish when being handled, although she seems to calm down one minute, then all of a sudden moves like lighting!! Sure she will calm down in time.

Thanks Karen, that's put my mind at rest about the mealies. I will keep trying with the crickets too though, even though they're really horrible little things!

Thanks Louise - I got Honey at the SEAS meeting last month, as I couldn't resist her Very Happy Had already decided to get a Leo at some point, just not that soon!
