Hi there

Was wondering if there is anyone else out there with a confused snake.

I was under the impression that when snakes feed they take their food head first with regards to the scent of the brains etc.

Mine must then be the most confused snake as he prefers to take them back end first.

Is this normal or is'nt there a specific way that they take their food?

Help please!

Flo

I have some that take rear end first too. It's really odd when they try sideways lol.

Sometimes though maybe it's because the mouse rear maybe the warmer end, try and warm the head up a bit more and see if that helps.

I can't imagine it will do any harm, some of mine do it from time to time too.

The only time I worried was when a boa took it sideways. It was far too big that way but the snake refused to give it back... Took him about 1/2 hour, but he got there in the end (he seems to think that because of that achivement, he deserves much bigger food now...)

Lots of mine take rear end first, kingsnake does most of the time to the point if she grabs mouse by the head, she'll reposition to go bum first Confused

had hoggie that took sideways from time to time also Shocked

to date no side effects!!

Mine feed ass first sometimes also, don't worry it does them no harm.

My Puff Adder ate sideways once but with a small food item so I didn't worry too much!
