PostPosted: Sun May 13, 2007 3:20 pm    Post subject: 2nd Set Of Eggs Reply with quote

My Crested Gecko laid eggs 4 weeks and 3 days ago now and I've read on various care sheets that she should lay another 2 eggs within 3-4 weeks. She looks very fat where the eggs are.

She didn't lay in the nesting box for her 1st clutch so I thought there was no point in putting it in again as it was quite an eye-sore and if she didn't use it there was no need.

Because it was over 4 weeks since she laid her first clutch, on saturday I put some Soil in a corner in case she was looking for something softer than the Orchid Bark I use (She dug and laid in that last time).

I was just wondering if I should be getting worried and should do something about it (if so, what). Or if it is quite normal to take this amount of time?

Thanks,

Tom

My geckos are going between 4 and 6 weeks between laying their eggs but this is their first season laying so I'm not sure if that's the reason why.

Ah right, thanks. This is my Gecko's first season as well so that could be it. Though she is looking very fat where the eggs are.

If she's looking very fat then I suspect she's about ready to drop the next set. Smile

Thanks, it looks like she could be laying now. She came out of her kitchen roll tube at about 6 and they never normally come out before the light goes off (At 7) and I watched her for a bit but then she stopped moving...

I watched TV for a bit and came back up, looked for her, no sign so I got worried that she was laying and I wouldn't have a clue where, or she could be hiding well. And then I noticed a tiny bit of lizard flesh burried in the substrate! So it's fingers crossed from here!

She didn't lay last night and she was in her kitchen roll tube this morning. But when I've come back from school she isn't in the kitchen roll tube or any other hide, so I'm guessing she is burried again!

I hate the waiting game!

Thanks for all the luck! Very Happy
