Hi,
I have a female bull snake with a swollen belly and i have no idea why
I got her out of her winter cooling period in late Jan' after her usual 3 month spell. when she became active i noticed a slight lump in the middle of her stomach. I offered her her first meal/mouse and she took it straight away, passed waste just days later, no probs.
So not too concerned i just kept an eye on her, she kept eating and passing, even when i moved her onto her usual feed of small rats she continued to eat and pass no probs.
her belly is now a little bigger (looks like she just swallowed a small rat!!)
I am now waiting for her to slough before taking her to the vet.
she is around 6 1/2 years old and almost as long!
she has never been mated but does get cooled down every winter.
I'm stumped, does anyone have any idea as to what this could be? |

She may just be forming egg follicles, most F adult colubrids do as part of the yearly cycle, especially as you overwintered her.
Just a thought, obviously hard to be certain without seeing the snake in person.
Hope this Helps...RGDS. AL _________________ if you like something buy it,if you don't then don't |
