Give him a chance to settle in. You only brought him home on Friday so his surroundings will feel odd to him. Give him a few weeks to get his bearings before you start to handle him. I know it can be worrying when you first bring a gecko home but just give him time to get used to things.

As Jackie says Wink

As for locust/cricket sizes, ideally no bigger than the width of the lizards head as a general safe rule.

I use tweezers to transfer the crickets/locusts into a plastic bag to dust them. I just close the bag and give it a little shake until they have a light coat on them. Then I just put them back into the viv and shake them out.

Most geckos will eat prey bigger than their head given the chance, follow the guidelines obviously but don't worry to much if the prey is a little larger.

Cresties, contrary to popular believe are not all fans of being held, most only tolerate it for brief periods, my crestie goes nuts trying to get away from me if I try and get her so I just leave her alone.
