Erm..

Noooooooo.... extreme is forcefeeding the whole egg

If you can't find small eggs there is nothing else for it

- Is it a wonder our hobby is coming under thread with comments like this?
Yes, there is something "else for it"..you CAN find small eggs, if you look hard enough. Why would you buy a snake that you know you cant care for properly?
It really irritates me that you actually gloat about having to forcefeed a snake.

I have recently just bred D.atra and i am currently tube feeding them. Its not as extreme as it sounds, its a lot easier and less damaging than force feeding snakes pinkies, and i dont see you condemming ppl for force feeding hatchling corns etc to keep them alive.
Finding a regular supply of finch sized eggs isnt easy as they are good breeders and ppl who breed them dont like giving up their fertile eggs, and thats even if they will take them, i have and get hundreds of budgie eggs and they just dont seem interested yet, i have also tried a huge variety of other eggs.
I feel much better about tube feeding my CB eggeaters where they eventually will produce CB babies than taking CF or WC animals. I think some of the attitudes on this thread show the ignorance towards this species.

My adult male takes japanese and chinese painted quail eggs, and my adult female used to take chicken and japanese quail eggs. IMO males are much too small for chicken eggs, not saying they couldnt if they werent very hungry.
