Darren,
The xray makes it plain that there are no retained eggs -- eggs are not as dense as is the impaction, but you'd have seen thir outlines in that first shot were they there. As crocdoc mentioned, get the xray shot to include more of the tailbase, to see what sort of ossifications are present. |

thats what we all thought - vet doesn't believe there are eggs either - but has to make 100% sure and also wants to check current state of impaction
and it's not a money thing either - this round of X-rays is not going to cost. The entire visit will only cost the injections. |

Hi again boys and girls.
Just got back from the vet.
The X-ray i posted was one of many, the vet had a whole other bunch that showed the possibility of eggs - though He, i and many of you dont think this is the case.
A dose of liquid parrafin has been given as well as a dose of some other drug via a stomach tube to fight the toxidian. Finally an injection for the worms.
Appetite should start returning back to normal in about 3 days, this coupled with warms baths - the parrafin etc - should start shifting all that waste.
We have to go back in 2 weeks time and see if there is any change.
Finally - it's official....... Webster is a Girl.... |

Hi Guys,
Well Lilly is doing really well now. She is eating well and has a good appetite - apart from not liking adult mice!
She appears to have very poor eyesight though, confirmed by the vet and the fact that when she is on her sheet in the living room she pretty much sticks to it and rarely wanders off it, must feel safe knowing where she is i guess. Doesn't stop her eating and milling about the living room for her excercise though...
shame she isn't in perfect tip-top condition, always seems such a shame to see her not move around much in her viv but she makes up for it when she has the run of the living room. |
