Can anyone help me?!
Have just got 4 dwarf scorps, but cant find any info on the net.
Have no idea of latin names of 3 of them, so dont know if housing / feeding correctly etc.
Am told one is Lomachus Politus, and the other 3 are tanzanian dwarf.

Hmm. Well, identification from photographs isn't too reliable, and I'm definitely no expert, but I can't see too much difference in those four. You'd have to point out the Iomachus politus. Are there any differences you can see, in person? Size, for example?
Personally, I think they might be I. politus too. It's sometimes named after the same area (Tanzania). Some kind of Hadogenes sp. might be likely too, but then they wouldn't exactly count as 'dwarf' scorpions. But don't quote me.
I assume they're young, judging by their size in the cricket tub. Considering that and their similarity to the I. politus, I'd say keep them warm and fairly humid. Feeding - like any scorpion, I assume. Feed them anything they'll eat. |

All look identical in person as well!
Have just been told on another forum, that picture number 4 is an adult...
They didnt say what species tho!
Cool, thanks for your help.
Have got them in cricket tubs with coco soil on the bottom, , couple of oak leave, and film pot hides. |

That's helpful.
Can I ask where you got them? I recently got a few I. politus myself - I'm interested in small, harmless scorpions. For one thing they take up less space. Trouble is, few people sell them because they're not big or deadly.
Also: did you say you couldn't find info for the I. politus as well as the others?

If so, here's a couple of links that might be helpful:

Vermis- I couldnt find info on 'tanzanian dwarf'.
Thanks for the links. Very helpfull.
Hows best to size food? I'm afraid on crickets hurting them as they are so tiny!
The one thats meant to be an adult is only about 3cm...
Will pm you the seller, althought these were the last 4. |
