I got these today, their latin name is Extatosoma Tiaratum. They are also known as Giant prickly stick insects or Macleay's Spectre!

They originate from australia and have to be the easiest creature to look after I have ever kept (me thinks i'll be getting some more).

Hopefully I can start a breeding program with them this year. Razz

Nice! How can you tell the male and female apart?

Well the female is covered in large spikes where as the male is more or less smooth, the male also has large wings allowing it to glide/fly for several meters and the female has small wing buds!

Also the female is much bigger than the male.

Hope that helps Razz
