Anyone got any luck with making a vivarium into a furniture?
A friend of mine is moving into a dorm hall soon, and no one is willing to take care of his Ball Python and Red-tailed Boa. I would love to take them in if I wasn't living with a bunch of people that act like PETA members.
I am looking on Google, and many of the "furniture" examples are simply huge. |

There is nothing wrong with PETA, but the members are hypocrites and my housemates are acting like them. If the creature is a mammal or rarely the others (reptile, amphibian or bird) they try to protect them, but if it is a fish, an insect or one of the others I mentioned above -- they don't give a damn.
Anyway, let go back to the topic. |

Fair enough. I don't think it's fair to say all PETA members are hypocrites...but I see your point. I consider fish welfare one of the major problems of welfare in the UK...but back to the point....
Have you thought of finding an old wardrobe at the dump....you could sand it, glass/mesh panel the front, and still use drawers for storage. I've often considered it. It wouldn't be a difficult job....??? |

You might find furniture you could use on your local Freecycle too |

Yeah, I thought about finding an old or recycled furnitures. The problem is going to be finding one at the right depth more than anything else.
Does anyone have any real good example? |

I should have not compared my housemates to PETA. Argh... what a quick way to derail my own post.
Another problem I just thought of... how to hide the vents. |

is to simply hide the vivarium, or just to look good?
Everything is wrong with PETA... |
