I like the fact that they're stackable and are easy to keep clean. However, the price puts me off. 60cm is only 2ft long. The last viv I bought was a 4ft viv. It cost less. Think I'll stick to the traditional viv or Really Useful Boxes for the time being.

I really like herptek vivs and although quite expensive they should last a very long time..much better than visions in my opinion

It has got almost double the floor space of a really useful box and only a few inches less than my ikea komplement boxes, only downside because it is only 12 inches high it does not have the facility for heating from above. For £114 I think they are worth trying.
Back to my original question, suppose money is not the issue do royal keepers think that one would be good for a big female.
My idea is if used with gravid females you could have a dry hide and a moss filled hide side by side over heatmat and female can choose. with conticos really useful boxes and even the 33 x 18 komplement boxes space is tight to have 2 hides on the heatmat.
what do people think.

Just rattled through some numbers to see just how much floor space it has...

It does not have double the floor space a 50 litre really useful box can provide.

The 60cm x 60cm herptek viv provides 60cm2 x 60cm2 3600cm2 of floor space,
The 50 litre really useful box provides 71cm2 x 44cm2 = 3124cm2 of floor space...

According to my figures, if a 50 litre really useful box was square like this herptek viv, the dimensions would be 55.9cm x 55.9cm... Just thought i'd add my little bit to the conversation, which doesn't sound very significant if the herptek viv is 60cm x 60cm. The area where it might be significant is if the herptek viv measures an inside length x width of 60cm x 60cm. According to the really useful website, the internal dimensions for 50 litre boxes would be an equivalent square area of 47.3cm2 x 47.3cm2... I am going to do some measuring when i get home and investigate the internal measurements myself... because according to these internal measurements this would make this box now smaller than a large contico and that is impossible!!!!!!! Shocked Very Happy lol

Many people don't use hides in their tubs because the tub itself is meant to mimic one larger hide and the snake should be able to thermoregulate in it.

hi and thanks for input
the internal floor area of a 50litre usefull box is 24 x 14.5 = 384 divide by 144 = 2.41 square feet
Conticos are 20 x 14 = 280 divide by 144 = 1.94 square feet
herptek approx 23 x 23 = 529 divide by 144 = 3.67 square feet.
So floor area will be approx 1 square foot bigger than a really usefull box. Not as much as 1st thought but still a good chunk of floor space. If the internal dimensions are say 23.5 then all the better.
My original idea was to be able to have a heat mat across the width and use 2 hides side by side very humid for egg laying and dry which is easily done with the herptek but a struggle with my 18 wife komplement boxes.

I am waiting for a reply from eurorep who are hopefully going to measure the floor area exactly.

I forgot to measure them, but if those are the actual's, and you gain an extra foot squared of floor space, then go for it. My last message wasn't very clear on what i was meaning.. If the internal dimensions of the 60cm2 herptek tank is 60cm2, then i was trying to say that there would be a noticable difference from a 50l really useful going by the internal dimensions. Smile

63cm x 39cm (my measurments internally) = 2457cm2 floor area = 2.645ft2

This is still above 1ft squared of that of a really useful box Smile
