Well...I've got a male and female lizard which I've had for 2 and a bit months now and almost 5 weeks ago (On thursday it will be 5 weeks) I saw the male attempting to breed with the female, it wasn't that she rejected, just (this may sound a bit wrong), but they weren't in the right position...Also they seemed to stop when the light went on.

Now yesterday I saw the female digging in 2 different places, and it could have been more through the night and tonight I have seen her digging in two different places, and she is digging somewhere else now. I have a nesting box in but she doesn't seem to be interested in that. I was just wondering if this looks like she is pregnant and looking for somewhere to lay.
Also I am slightly worried because she hasn't been in her nesting box (From what I know), and could it be possible she lays her egss somewhere out of site where I wont notice?

P.S. I have bark as a substrate- Probably about an inch long and half inch wide average.

It does sound like she is looking for a place to lay. I found that if you have a deep layer of substrate they will more often than not lay in that somewhere, rather than use a laying box. You'll just have to be vigilant...lol. You'll probably be able to tell where she has laid as they do cover the eggs very well, which usually means there will be a huge mound of substrate somewhere in the viv. Good luck!

Thanks for the information and the quick reply. The main substrate in the tank isn't very deep. Probably depending on where you're looking from half an inch to an inch and a half. I'll just have to sit and hope! Quite an exciting time as well!

Just to add on something that I forgot, she seems to have got fatter, especially towards the back of her body.

It certainly sounds like she could be carrying eggs. I found that if I keep the nesting box damp and allowed the rest of the substrate to dry out (i used a mixture of orchid bark and coco fibre) that my females would use the nesting box.

Of course one of them still decided to lay her eggs under her calcium dish. Rolling Eyes Thankfully she's the one who hasn't been with a male since last year and her eggs so far have been infertile.
