good evening all.
I'm new to the monitor lizard game, though have found them fascinating since child hood when they used to come and kidnap my grans chickens in south Africa
any way more to the point, i have made the conscious decision i am going to get some(many)
i find them all so interesting, though giving some thought i think ackies will be the most sensible introduction to these creatures.(though my heart wants crocodile monitors , maybe in a year or two.)
been reading all i can , i keep pythons, have for a while now, though i am curious to know if monitors get things like mites, how much food they eat how often average life span is a naturalistic setup best and how much mess do they make as I'm under the impression they eat alot.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks all

First off I would have a good read through this section as there are quite a few very experienced monitor keepers on here and there is a wealth of knowledge throughout most the threads here.. _________________

don't worry I've been burning the night lamps here for some time,
i am very impressed with what i have read here there defiantly are some clued up cats on this forum.
I've been giving monitors thought for along time and i want to do it right.
take my time not rush and give the animals the correct husbandry. _________________ retierd and spending my childrens inheritance. |
