Hi all.

Had 2 Irian Jaya babies in a rack for 2 weeks, have not feed either week, refused, but that didnt woorry me.

Temps ok.

Had them both out earlier to try to feed, no interest, both active.

Checked them before leaving house, one is still fine and very active. The other is lethargic, half dead.

Reptile Vet is unavailable (!!). Have had to go to girlfriends house. Have brought snake with me in tub, put new mat and stat in to make sure temps are ok.

He has started moving but can obviously barely lift his head.

Any advice? I just dont know what to do!

Many Thanks

Gary

are you sure the temps are 100% correct inside the tubs to start?

also what size are there tubs and what temps are the hot spots at?

is the room warm ie is the ambient temp ok in the room?

how old are these snakes and did they feed before you purchased them?

hot spot set to 86

room is warm

snakes are young, dont know exact age.

According to shop, they refused feed but they only had them in for 1 week.

right then i suggest you nip out to maplins and buy a thermometer
and stick it on the hot spot of there tub to get the real temperature
as this is your problem the stat will not give 100% accurate readings but a thermometer probe on the hot spot will and make sure the two probes are together in the tub ..

turn the heat up to 88/90 max in the hot spot and make sure you put a nice sized tub of water in the tub by the heat spot to get the humidity up a little .then if he is still ill ring the guy who sold it you and ask when it last fed
