Hi all I was given 2 leopard gecko eggs by a neighbour yesterday (2nd-4-07), she has had her 2 Geckos for 14 yrs and has had many eggs. She came to me because she has never had any successful hatchlings from her eggs!
I asked how she was incubating the eggs and she told me that she just left them where they were laid (Often in the water bowl) and turned them everyday!
So I was happy to take them off her, now i'm a Beardie breeder and don't really know anything about Geckos as i've never kept them. I have put the eggs into an incubator with my beardie eggs.
Is this ok for them? The temp in there is 29 digrees and very humid. Any help you could give would be grate as she has said that i'm quite welcome to any more that she lays! Also how many are they likely to lay through the breeding season?
Thanks again guys and gals. _________________ Beardies are the way!

Hey,
Firstly i'd make/put them in a seperate incubator for obvious reasons...
Leopard geckos usually lay several clutches of 2/3 eggs per year.
Humidity needs to be kept at around 70 - 80% and the temperature should ideally be 30C (86F) for mixed sexes. If incubating for mainly females keep temperatures around 78F and 90F for mainly males.
Remember that lower temperatures usually mean longer incubation period (& vice versa), they usually hatch after about 9 weeks at 86F.

I incubate for females at 79F, humidity as stated at around 75%. I wouldn't recommend leaving them in with beardie eggs, who knows what would happen if they hatched at similar times...
Probs nothing much but why risk it. _________________ Kind Regards,

Yer I had put them in seperate containers but they have gone bad now!
I dont think that they were actually fertile still it was worth a go.
Thanks for all your info I'll keep it in mind for the next lot! _________________ Beardies are the way!
