I don't think you can compare a cumingi who is on the verge of losing the name salvator and becoming its own species to a common salvator.

I also don't think it's fair to compare an adult to juveniles with regards to body shape.

I agree that it looks big and fat, but I've seen plenty of wild adult specimens that look huge like that. a great example was on the Jeff Corwin show. He walked up on one that was laying on a beach that was massive. easily the size of the one pictured above.

Shay, you have to be careful not to confuse TV with reality. Often those personality driven wildlife programs will use someone's pet - especially if said personality has little difficulty approaching it, despite it being a supposedly 'wild' animal - or do the filming in an area where the animals live on handouts (which explains both its obesity and relative calm in the presence of the personality and his entire film crew).
