Hi Can anyone tell me what sort of panther this little lad is please? I bought him as a nosey be but am a little disappointed with the colouring. Will it improve as her gets older. He is about 10 mnths I think.
Thanks

Looks like a Nosy B, or maybe an ambanja, hard to say till fully adult. Nosy B'S are often turquoise, in the wild they will have more red in them, at times with red radiating form the eye turrets and with red dots all over them to.
Some are more blue than others some more turquoise some with a bit more green tinge to them. The Nosy B's that are almost solid blue have come from stock with blue dominance and the line has been perpetuated to produce an almost solid blue, but one could say this is not as nature intended.
I guess it all depends what you want from a Nosy B blue.
Here are some pics of mine; three males one fully adult as you would most likely see in Madagascar, one that is turquoise with tinges of red and blue and a white lipped Blue on blue. All three Nosy B'S totally different from one another.
Don't be disheartened I think he is a nice cham the one you have got.
Even Panthers that come from the same locales e.g. Ambilobes, Ambanjas etc can all look quite different from each other, they will share the basics of banding colour and other marking locale specific traits but even then can appear quite different from their peers. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

That amount of red spotting spotting is seen more in the wild. Because most folk want pure blues the dominant blues are bred until an almost pure blue is achieved. Hence why not that many heavily red spotted Nosy B's are seen CB.
Most NB's have yellow lips and occasionally you will get a white lipped one, just genetics I guess. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk
