|
|
I have received my new stack and would really like to get 2-3 ackies.
The viv is 4 ft x 18"high x 18"deep - would this suffice?
I would really love to have Ackies but appreciate if this is to small then i should consider something else as there is nothing worse that lizards looking as if they are cramped.
Thanks for any help

ackies will do fine in that it will help if you make them a basking stack aswell to increase floor space |

Sorry to jump on the band wagon but for a viv that size would 1.2 be comfitible (sp)? |

if set up correctly it would be fine but of course bigger vivs allow for more mistakes, smaller vivs need to be spot on. _________________

What do you mean with regards to "spot on"? |

With a large viv, you can create more environments inside it, more thermal gradients, more hides, more dry areas, more humidity hides, more space to allow for territorial behaviour etc, this all makes keeping the animals within easier (in general).
A smaller viv can work just as when, in fact sometimes better (for some species) but of course you won't be able to provide as many choices for the lizard so the choices YOU force on it have to be 'spot on', ie. if you only have room for one nesting site, it needs to work as you haven't provided a choice for the lizard, or even the hides, they spend many hours in hides but need to do this at the right temp (that why basking stacks are so good).
hope that makes sense? _________________
