That is Varanus exanthematicus- the Savanah Monitor, aka "Bosc Monitor". |

ill check it out, would you say its a good monitor for a first timmer? i was also thinking of getting the smaller dwarf moniters would that be better for a first mon ? |

Hi,purchasing a monitor for the first time should be considered very carefully.They take a fair bit of time and alot of cash to maintain properly,regardless of species.As with most large insectivouries/rodenteating lizards,monitors need feeding on a daily basis and require a good size viv which in tern needs a good source of heat and lighting with the approprate controls.All that said it is very rewarding. |
