she just started flipping out and opening her mouth and looks like she's trying to regurgitate something and she brought up a small amt of foam. any ideas?? i'm on the phone to e-vets in the area right now.....

i just spoke to an exotics vet, she says as long as she's breathing fine (she is when she's not trying to puke or whatever) and she's been ok otherwise then its not an emergency. she's probably just trying to vomit something up. she's really freaking me out though. Sad

75-88 day, 65-70 nite. she's a common or mediterranean cham. it came on so suddenly, she's been fine all day (and for the past 8 months for that matter), and in between "bouts" she looks a little stressed but breathing fine, still green for the most part... she just looks like shes really having a hard time bringing something up. i didnt know chams could vomit. i guess all animals do. its been like 5 minutes since she last did it. and its "night" in her cage now.

ok, one more question. how do i transport her? i have a small 2.5 gal plastic tank, i'll put a branch in so she has something to hang onto and prewarm the car... anything else i need to know? last time we traveled was when i brought her home from the expo. i'm nervous about taking her for a car ride but she needs to get looked at.

she's still doing it, though not as frequently as before. i just don't know whats going on. she still looks like she's trying to regurgitate something. it's 2:30am here and the morning can't come fast enough. (i'll be at my herp vet first thing in the am - there are no emergency herp vets around except for the one i talked to before and she says its not an emergency since she's breathing fine.) she looks so stressed. i guess we'll see... i can't find any references online to the sort of thing she's doing.

Right it is an emergency to a degree I would suggest as the cham is stressed.

I am in no way a vet, she may have something lodged in her throat a partial blockage she is trying to clear, outside chance of RTI respiratory tract infection. Usually they foam at mouth produce fluid on the lungs and can decline quite quickly. Gasping for air and excess mouth fluids are signs and symptoms of this.

If transporting her small box or tank keep her warm. As I said I am not a vet and am only making assumptions of what it may be.
