Returned from Hamm last night, went out on Friday. Was a good drive over via the euro tunnel and only took four hours.

Well the hotel bar was packed out with Brits, I think Scott exhausted the beer supplies! Very friendly atmosphere bumped into a few people I knew and lots that I didn't.

Early start on Saturday as we had to meet some people in Hamm before the show opened. The early start was made easier by a nice large breakfast. Must say we were very well looked after in the hotel.

The que for the show was long and by the main entrances it was packed out, literally heaving with bodies. I managed to have an early entry pass. Which was nice.

There were a great many herps available lots of variety and also good to see lots of CB chameleons. Also quite a few WC chams I avoided these and went for the CB babies some nice hard to obtain species were available, Nosy Komba, Nosy Mitsio, Ankaramy, Lateralis Minors, I indulged myself and came home mainly with various harder to obtain chams including some nice captive bred baby dilepsis and Jacksons. Some Ambanja Blue Diamond chams were on offer but I was put off these as one of the breeders selling them explained that the Blue Diamonds were a hybrid of Ambanja and Nosy B blue.

I treated myself to a pair of lovely highly aggressive Tokays, just love the attitude. I have been meaning to get some for ages now and just never got round to it. They were only about £8 each and well grown on, superb Laughing Also got a pair of pictus geckos as I just like them. Plus a few other bits and pieces.

The show was very well attended both by buyers and sellers alike. Perhaps not as mad as the September show but still very well attended in my view. The atmosphere was great everyone seemed quite relaxed and friendly.

I would definitely recomend stopping over night at a hotel so that you are fresh for the show, much more enjoyable this way. Its surprising how tiring it all is.

The journey back almost ended in tragedy. We were in the fast lane of the motorway when all of a sudden the cars in all lanes in front of us started swerving and slamming on their brakes, we managed to swerve into another lane to avoid hitting any cars (well done Jason) glad you bought spare Y fronts!. Then we saw a huge Pyrenees mountain dog leaping about in all of the lanes even tried to jump the barrier into oncoming traffic, poor thing was petrified. A car was parked up on the hard shoulder, with a guy from the car chasing the dog around the motorway. Not sure where the dog came from perhaps it was from the guys car parked up, who knows but it was a dangerous experience thats for sure. Then further along in Belgium a lorry decided just to stop in between an exit and the motorway blocking a couple of lanes, again cars were slamming on the brakes. I think the lorry driver was lost, waht a numpty just stopping in the middle of the motorway by an exit.

All in all a superb time and what made it great was the friendly atmosphere and huge variety of herps at the show.

Glad you enjoyed it...sounds like the homeward journey was a bit scary though!!

Hoping to see loads of photos soon. Got to say, I'm rather envious, as I'd love to attend a show - and Hamm sounds like a big un!

I didn't see any but to be honest I was not looking for them. There were however quite a few Rudis there. I was tempted but also was trying to conserve some euros, all to easy to be like a kid in a sweet shop over there. I did make a couple of impulse purchases but the majority (85%) was planed. Sort of Laughing
