Went herping to a new site today.
Hundred of frogs-more than I've seen in 20 years.
Also four adders.
A GCN last week
A smooth snake last year

Love the Adder pic, the Sand lizards and the Greens came out in the sun today, first time this year I've seen 'em, they are two weeks earlier than usual too.
Will post some pics when I finally buy a decent camera, have you got any you dont want Slippery??

Hey Slippery,
yeah it's been a while, you are welcome to visit anytime, although Jersey doesn't exactly have the best herping trips Although we do have the biggest grass snakes I've ever seen , and more Palmate newts than you can shake a stick at.(see the correlation? )
We do quite a lot of work with local species in Jersey, Agile frogs, Common Toads, Grass snakes, etc etc, .
Alas the eyelashes are not mine to give, I think I would have them all if I had the chance, but work is kinda like having a few hundred pets anyway
Maybe catch up with you in the UK too, would love to see your collection, the photos of your latest editions are impressive indeed.

"For those about to ask I hold Natural England licences for all species"
What does said licence allow you to do exactly? Do you need one to photograph our native protected herps?
I have recently signed up for NARRS and will be attending a training session next month.
I'd like to get involved with Adder conservation someday, possibly captive breed and release.
Love the Adder pic _________________ You can't trust the snake......but you can always trust the snake to be a snake. |
