This stunning 2 year old Katherine form arrived from the Northern Territory yesterday. Instant love affair! He's not only probably the nicest example of the nicest form of BTS I'ver seen, but he's a great handler too. Noticably bigger than our other boy (a sub-adult) and much better marking definition.
My wife is ecstatic, as this one seems to like her, unlike MY boy (I thought this one was bought for ME Shocked )

Theoretically at any rate, Scott. In the month & a bit he's been in captivity, he's discovered that he's really partial to hopper mice!

The standard boiga irregularis, both brown & banded forms, are pretty common right throughout the top end, but the "candy canes" are only found in the region of the Katherine Gorge, near Alice Springs. This form has also not been successfully bred in captivity yet, so they are quite rare in private collections. It's taken us just on 2 years to obtain our two males, & in spite of having had an order in place for a female for over a year, we are still to obtain one. The Northern Territory govt issues permits to a limited number of people to capture & sell from the wild, only one person has the licence for this particular area, & he has to be called out for a snake removal from private premises to obtain the animal.
