Might as well post something here.
Hello, my name's Warren, I'm from Northern Ireland. I'm an invert man, meself; although I have a plains garter snake and I used to keep amphibians - a green toad, an argentine horned frog, yellow-bellied toads, fire-bellied newts, and two big, beautiful tiger salamanders. Unfortunately I sold them on when I started going to university and couldn't look after them during the week, and even though that's all done with I haven't got any more. I'll have to sort that out, but I digress.
Inverts, then. I've had a few over the years, and I used to keep phasmids and mantids, but my first love is arachnids.
My current list:
2 s/a-af? curly hair tarantulas Brachypelma albopilosum
1 af mexican rose-grey Brachypelma verdezi
1 mexican redknee sling Brachypelma smithi
1 mexican fireleg sling Brachypelma boehmi
1 juv whiteknee Acanthoscurria geniculata
4 juv salmon pinks Lasiodora parahybana
2 pinktoes Avicularia avicularia. 1 am, matured last Tuesday; 1 s/a.
3 usambara orange baboons Pterinochilus murinus RCF. 1 am, bought today; 1 s/a-af?; 1 small juv which is actually turning out more golden than red...
1 af indian ornamental Poecilotheria regalis
1 glenelva featherleg sling Selenotholus sp. 'Glenelva'
2 philippine dwarf slings Phlogiellus baeri
1 large juv emperor scorpion Pandinus imperator
2 small juv flat rock scorpions Hadogenes troglodytes
2 small juv yellow-tailed scorpions Euscorpius flavicaudis
Peppered roaches Archimandrita tesselata
Discoid roaches Blaberus discoidales, future livefood
Red runner/firefly roaches Blatta lateralis/Shelfordella tartara, more future livefood
Lobster roaches Nauphoeta cinerea, rejected livefood, but I can't bring myself to squash the last few. They're inexplicably cute little buggers, even when they're laying seige to the vaseline barrier...
Indian stick insects Carausius morosus. I got these a couple of weeks ago. I thought I'd start again with stick insects, from the ground up.
After reviewing that list, I have a quick question: can someone remind me about the order of the 1.1.1 system? It's male.female.unknown, right? |
