Hi Claire. Welcome to captivebred.

Plenty of people here to help you. I have kept both, and still do keep a few kings of various types. Kings are a perfect first snake in my opinion. They come in so many diferent colours and patterns, and whats more naturally!

King`s eat their heads off and it`s not often you hear of them having feeding problems. All mine except for one grumpy old male florida king are a pleasure to handle, though they are often nippy as young animals. They are a very easy snake to care for and won`t break the bank either.

Royals can be kept by first timers, as long as one does their research thoroughly and buys a healthy animal that is feeding well from a reputable breeder there should be no problem.

Enjoy the forum. Cool
