got this question to complete for college any help much appreciated
Question 1
'Describe the process for breeding one species from each of the following groups:-
REPTILES:- Geckos, Skink, Corn snake, Python, Dragon
AMPHIBIANS:- Tree frog, Fire bellied toad, Cane toad, Axoloti, Fire salamander
CHELONIAN:- Red eared terrapin, Box turtle, Mediterranean tortoise, Soft shelled turtle, Snapping turtle
INVERTEBRATES:- Cockroaches, Crickets, Stick insects, Land snails, Praying mantis
BIRD:- Cockatiel, Merlin, Peregrine falcon, African grey parrot, Finch
I can do one from reptiles and birds but need help with the rest although any input on the reptiles might add summat i havent. It only needs to be brief as the next questions covers it in more depth
Question 2(teacher has agrred to let me do this one on boids)
Devise a breeding plan suitable for one named species of exotic animal.
(you should include any initial preparations to allow/encourage mating, the desired timetable, accomodation modification, choice of breeding stock, mating, incubation of eggs, rearing of young and homing/sale.)
Question 3
Weigh up the benifits and disadvantages of the breeding and sale of exotic pets when compared with the trade in common species.
Make reference to the difficulties involved in handling, accommodating, health management, meeting legal and ethical responsibilties and maintenance of registration and licensing documentation. You should also demonstrate a detailed knowledge of named species in your discussion. |

Ok, here's one for Crickets.
rear a culture of approx 100 crickets to adult size, this will contain a good mix of both sexes. Keep at a background temp of 28c and provide a basking area of 35c. Spray once per day to keep humidity good to allow for shedding.
Offer correct food (chick crumb, greens, potato), provide egg laying tubs filled with damp peat. Exchange egg tubs weekly and incubate at 28c. Once hatching starts set up in a new bin as per adults. _________________
