hi i have just got a pair of adult boscs and the male has had diarrhea since i have had him, everything else is fine about him apart from this. The guy that had him before me was feeding him a lot of raw meat do you think this would of done it, any help much appreciated. Also do i want to put the sand/soil substrate at the warm end or the cool end of the tank |

Yes. Not a particularly good diet. See how it goes after a few meals of whole mice and insects. If it still has diarrhea then, there may be issues, but you'll probably find it will firm up a bit.

All of it (both ends, in the middle, everywhere - and deep) |

It might also be worth getting the vet to do a faecal check, in case the problem is parasites. |

Make the substrate as deep as possible, preferably 12ins minimum. Do you have a female out of the pair?
I would feed more invertebrates every day and feed chicks and mice a couple of times a week. You could try them with some roaches as well. |

Chicks will give the animals runny stools, regardless of what else you are feeding. Try to alternate between chicks and rodents - give them a week or so with no chicks whatsoever and see how you get on. |

Yes, just collect a sample of faeces (the 'poo', rather than the white urate) and take it into your vet. He will check for various parasites.
Hope he settles in Ok for you. _________________
