They can get well over 5 feet. I'm sure seen pics of a UK captive male which was more like 8' and still growing...

Mark.

Well the largest one in the u.k (seems to be the largest captive panoptes panoptes that anyone has seen) is around 6ft and used to belong to sean parlour and is now with a new owner. He is exceptionaly large but notwere near 8ft nore have any ever been seen near that to my knowledge.

Fair enough: I thought that they could exceed 6 feet. Maybe not. I was going to look in Cogger over the weekend, but forgot.

Cheers,
Mark.

Oh they can definately get a good bit over 6ft but ive never seen or heard of one anywere near 8ft. I of course will stand corrected if i am shown one but i know that the largest over here is zeus with hugh and there are very few panoptes panoptes around.

I will say tho that in captivity the panoptes panoptes there are seem to GENERALY max out at 5.5ft at the largest for a male but generaly the 5ft mark. Zeus is a decent amount bigger than any others that have been kept over here as far as i know.

The general size tend to be around 5ft for an adult male i believe tho im sure they can hit more than that. I dare say 6ft is within the reach of the species with the right feeding.

I know the guys down at cambridge reptiles keep them and i know sean has done and may well still do currently.

http://pizards.com/hbd/argus.html has alot of stuff from a keeper in the states and his experiences with them. Must point out tho i dont know him.
