Photographed in an underground oasis in the Sinai desert region of Egypt. I'd love it if someone could give a positive identification? I can think of nothing similar bearing in mind it was about 8-10 inches long (if my bad memory serves me right!!) Cool

The bottom picture is a shot of where it was found, inside the underground shaft by the trees...after a four hour trek by camel into the desert and seeing absolutely no life at all!! Was a strange experience seeing a whole community so dependent on this one natural feature, yet quite happily surviving in extremely inhospitable conditions!

At first glance I'd say Gekko petricolus, but if it were it would be a long way from home Very Happy

Maybe a Cyrtodactylus sp.? Do you have a pic that shows the feet in more detail?

Cheers,
Mark.

Nope sorry, this was me jumping taking photos because it was on the ceiling which was about ten foot high...it had just run out of reach after I tried to catch it. This was the only semi-in focus shot I got Confused
