|
|
Our female perentie at work has laid her second clutch for the season last night, after a gestation of only 23 days.
Here she is concealing the eggs.
Slightly smaller clutch than the first clutch (11 eggs) but they all look great.

I was about to ask where you work to have perenties, but All becomes apparent with the photo of the male.
Both lovely animals.
How are they kept? - the enclosure looks pretty darned big, are they kept permanently as a pair or are they separated at all? what size are the animals and what does the zoo do with the resulting offspring -
excuse my ignorance but is the wildlife world what used to be taronga zoo? or are they separate?
Just interested.

Forgot to say congratulations on breeding Perenties. Don't think that is very common, even in Oz. Beautiful species. Funnily enough the only large species of monitor I could get really close to in the wild when I visited Australia. Didn't even get that close to Lacies up North |
