I would'nt worry as long as their eating they don't need much if they are on cgd, plus it's winter and they slow down and eat alot less any way.I f you have young one's I'd check the temps and make sure they have access to a warm area around 25-26,that's what I've done with my 3-4month olds and they are eating every day and pilling on the weight. |

as thomas says dont worry about it too much as long as they look healthy enough . .
i have a little dish with banana and CGD mixed in it and they hardley look like they eat any . .
they do like chasing bugs about though . previously i put the bugs in a high sided dish to stop them invading the viv but now i dont think they would last too long .
and when im cleaning the viv out i have a look over the cresties and make sure they seem happy/healthy and they are fat enough . _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...

i'm very familiar with your problem
i now make my own food which i feed regular and i do provide crickets at least once a week
3 jars fruit baby food (peaches, apricots, Hawaiian delight, etc.)
1 small jar of chicken baby food
1 whole banana
2 teaspoons of honey
1 teaspoon of lemon juice (used as a preservative)
10 drops of liquid vitamin ( i use Bogena Multi-Vit by beaphar) pets at home sell it
i also add some calcium, the type you by as big blocks for birds. just scape it of
(i have been thinking of ading other fruits like mangos but so far i have not tried it yet)
This is mixed in a blender until smooth and then poured into cocktail ice cube trays and frozen. The cubes can be thawed and fed in a few seconds.
i find crested gecko diet is not as popular with my cresties but i do advise to feed crickets to balance the diet. there is a lot of goodness in CGD that needs replacing
adding some CGD to the mix is not a bad idea _________________ ULI |

i would like to try crickets but worried if i use to high a dish the crestie wont be able to get out, or if the crickets get out i have heard of them biting the cresties if let in viv, my viv is quite well planted so would be a nightmare to find the crickets hehehe |

a healthy crested is in no danger from crickets (of the right size) in the viv. I just throw a handfull in my cages, the cresteds eat them over 2 days or so. _________________

Ive been feeding mine organic apple and blackcurrent baby food mixed with cgd and alternately calcium. Cant seem to get my geckos intressted in crickets, I have a high sided dish and pull off hind legs so the crickets cannot escape but they are usually all left in by the morning. I feed him baby food every day, to make sure he gets fed every day and put in fresh crickets each evening too. I was thinking of trying hatchling locust as they are more active and might grab crestys attention more. _________________ [center]^_^

what type of cricket are you offering?
I have found that brown crickets are more readily taken (house crickets being the best), black crickets are the least popular, hardly any of my lizards will eat the blacks. _________________

i wouldnt pull the legs off them , its the moving about which alerts my cresties to the crickets in the tub . .
i have used , black , brown and small locusts and usually as long as it moves it will get eaten .
maybe be better to hold back on the crickets for a week or so then offer them again . maybe its because they arent too hungry as there is always loads on offer. _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...
