iv got her on some organic potting soil, there seems to be a lot of differences of opinion on substrates so i have gone for the one that seems to have the most backing

in my opinion just go with what you are comfortable with..spiders are quite easy to care and set up for anyway once you got the humidity and cage right and also depends what you want...if you wanted one that accepted occassional handling you wouldn't go for asian and african spiders(although most are striking in colour these are a little.....temperamental) but opt for something like a pink toe or honduran curly haired.
you can use almost anything as long as it can hold humidity well etc..ive used bark mulch, vermiculite even to just potting soil
