BUG AND REPTILE FAIR
Get ready for the biggest event in the creepy-crawly calendar!
Tropical Wings, the wildlife attraction in South Woodham Ferrers, will be hosting a Bug and Reptile Fair on Sunday 6th June 2004. This unique event – believed to be the only one of its kind in the county – is attracting widespread interest, with exhibitors and traders coming from all over Britain.
Tropical Wings already has one of the biggest butterfly houses in the country, and with the latest addition, a British Butterfly Garden, plus a variety of outsized bugs including giant millipedes, huge stick insects and hissing cockroaches, it’s the perfect place to hold the show.
On the day there will be a range of exhibits including native and exotic butterflies, spiders, a moth trap display, chameleons, lizards, iguanas and water dragons to name but a few. A range of specialists will be on hand offering advice on the care of these unusual species, with the chance to handle some of the livestock during the presentations. Also there will be a free quiz for all the children, with clues hidden around the Tropical House and gardens, which all adds up to make this the most exciting day since the Ugly Bug Ball!
For those who prefer something a little more cute and cuddly there will be all the usual Animal Encounter sessions where visitors can meet the goats, owls, ponies, wallabies, parrots, birds of prey and pets corner animals, but for the very brave, don’t miss the opportunity to come and face your worst nightmare … if you dare!
