Meet my chinese firebellies, Braeburn and Smith!
(Well, no one ever said what KIND of apple hit Sir Isaac Newton...)
These guys are adorable - I never realised quite how vocal they are - popping and clicking like a pair of loonies, and so laid back. |

Lovely! I kept a couple of fire bellies a few years ago, and I must say I have quite a soft spot for them! |

Hehehe thank you!
More pics coming on Friday.
Braeburn'll eat frozen, but Smith's picky.
Never mind, I'll get them some live tonight. |

Excellent would love to see them hon, mine are both males unfortunately but I'm hoping theres some girls on the way for them. Looking the main difference is the Japanese are more knobbly (and yes that is a technical term ) xxxxx |

*laughs* Technical terms are fab.
They've got very orange/red, black spotted bellies too.
I haven't a clue what sex they are yet. Have a feeling Smith may turn out male as has a relatively large cloaca for his size, but then he is small.
It's odd, in the right light they look very smooth, but they're definitely bumpy. They feel smooth though. Fortunately they're laid back enough to handle occasionally, although Smith insists on not letting go afterwards. |
