hi all i hope the answer to this is not glaringly obvious, if it is I'll just leave quietly now...

in my Tokay's viv i have a few horizontal wooden perches that are attached to the glass and to each other using aquarium sealant. it is now coming up to her first big clean out and i am wondering how I'm going to do the damn thing!! if i disinfect the whole thing branches and all will the wood not take ages to dry while the poor thing is in a temporary viv...? Confused but then i am loathe to remove the branches because i spent a lot of time and effort putting it all together Sad
what methods do others use?

If you have an issue with disease (or even mites), then you might be better off removing and starting again with fresh branches.

If you are just trying to have a spring clean, then I would suggest spraying and wiping off with a veterinary disinfectant a couple of times, and then rinsing with warm water. I use a product called Ark Klens for this.

Cheers,
Mark.
